We should hang out this Saturday, okay? Ok.

This is how our science-y friends make ice cream: with the magic of my Kitchen Aid and dry ice we enjoyed vanilla and espresso ice cream. There were also burgers, macaroni and cheese (baked or deep fried), World Famous Moose Beans, Caesar salad with homemade dressing… it was great.

Maty sums up the afternoon pretty well right here:

We didn’t buy many fireworks this year– not so much a need when you have several varieties  of flammable toys in your garage. None of the neighbors came out to gawk at us, we had plenty of chairs for everybody who came over for food, and though it was cloudy most of the day, it was pleasant out last night for spinning.

People keep saying that it’s usually not actually summer around here until after the 4th of July. Well, it’s after the 4th of July. Get started now. Go. ‘Tis your cue.

I would like to remind you that it’s a new month now (I say that because I need reminding– where did June go?) and that means another opportunity to check out River Organics and sample some of Michele’s products and services. This Saturday I’ll have my art displayed as well as many prints and handmade paper crafts for sale. There’s an amazing wine bar down the street, a great cafe just down the block, another great cafe around the other block. No seriously, you should.

I hope your Monday back from vacation has gone well. And as for those of you who have today off as well… then… Congratulations, you have Monday.
